T&DA’s Moon Verse Brings SORA-Q and Lunar Discovery to Life at Osaka Expo 2025

At Osaka Expo 2025, T&DA premiered Moon Verse: Lunar Non-Destructive Mission, an immersive VR lunar adventure created in collaboration with Pony Industry & Bascule and featuring data from JAXA, Takara Tomy and Doshisha University.

This extraordinary booth experience blended real-time technology, cinematic storytelling, and interactive design to transport visitors onto the surface of the Moon. Guests became rookie explorers, but also experts in the future of lunar exploration as they explored Shioli Crater and encountered SORA-Q, the iconic mini lunar robot from Japan’s SLIM mission.

There were many features integrated that formed an atypical combination for a standalone-VR experience; colocation, multiplayer, mixed reality, inverse kinematics, a fully traversable moon, and high-fidelity models were quite the combination to coalesce. However, the final product resulted in more than entertainment, it was a showcase of how creativity and technology can come together to make people feel wonder, connection, and possibility
