When you need to make an animated spot to advertise Subway’s Cheesy Garlic Bread, and you have a considerably reduced turnaround, AI suddenly becomes your best friend. We took on the challenge, completely untested… creating bespoke animation which adheres to a specific design aesthetic to bring a full CG world to life with characters.

The process starts out pretty similar to traditional animation; creating a storyboard, designing worlds and characters, settling upon an aesthetic that perfectly, portrays delicious fake commercial cheese. However we needed to help guide our AI friend along to bring the animatic to life. We trained LORA’s, simulated movements, and broke down and recomposited elements in each shot to give the AI the ability to concentrate prompts into those elements and end up with more accurate results. With some guidance from our friends at PXP, we were eventually able to create some cheese as good as the real thing.
